This 1980’s home needed updating. The new owners grew up in Germantown and were excited to be moving back after college with a growing family. Renovating in 2015 can be a little different from years past. This homeowner has a blog followed by several decorators from all over the country who helped with decisions such as paint colors, counter tops and cabinet pulls. Ask the homeowner for details. The 1980s kitchen has been updated with new appliances and freshly painted cabinets and walls. A new white backsplash was added with charcoal grout which reflects the gray in the new counter tops. If you are looking to update your kitchen, you will not want to miss this home.

The latest addition was completed in 2014 included a large hearth room, just off the kitchen, overlooking the lake and lovely landscaping. The homeowners wanted to bring their home into the current decade. To start, a wall between the den and living room was removed, dramatically opening up the living space. Smooth ceilings and recessed lighting were added to complete the look . The kitchen was remodeled from the floor up with new tile, custom cabinets, granite counter tops, recessed lighting and all new appliances. The entire downstairs is included in the tour. This is the perfect renovation for those who love their neighborhood but not their house.

This home has been renovated from the front entrance to the backyard. The home had beautiful vaulted ceilings and an open entry, but the overall floor plan was outdated and didn’t flow. The homeowners reworked the first floor to make it more functional and attractive. A new master bath, laundry room, mudroom and half bath were added. A wall between the kitchen and living area was removed to open up the space. The kitchen cabinets were resurfaced to match the new added cabinets. The backyard is on a hill that slopes steeply, making the outdoor space almost unusable. The lower yard was leveled and a covered outdoor kitchen and eating area were created along with a grassy area for a fire pit.
