Purpose
The Economic Development Commission advises the Board of Mayor and Aldermen on matters that affect the economic life of the community. The Commission also advises on local economic issues relevant to long-term planning and development of the city. It also helps to promote economic stability, vigor and balance within the business community. Additionally, the Economic Development Commission helps in encouraging business retention and productivity.

Meetings
First Thursday of each month at 5:30 p.m. in the Economic and Community Development office, 1920 S. Germantown Road.

Members
The commission consists of 12 members, including Chairman James "Bo" Adams, Matt Monteath, Bruce Meisterman, Jabin Newhouse, Brandon Toney, Cliff Sulcer, Melissa Kimbrough, Michele Johns, Dane Williams, Mark Ruleman and Alderman Mary Anne Gibson.

Public Meeting: Disaster Recovery Grant Program

There will be a public meeting on Tuesday, March 18, 2014, 4:00 p.m. at the Economic and Community Development Conference Room located at 1920 S. Germantown Road in Germantown, Tennessee, 38138.

The purpose of this meeting is to discuss the City’s intent to submit an application for a Shelby County 2011 Disaster Recovery Grant Program identifying community needs and how these Disaster Recovery funds can be used.

This public meeting will also discuss the proposed Disaster Recovery project parameters.
The public is urged to attend. Germantown, Tennessee does not discriminate on the basis of race, color, religion, sex, handicap or national origin. The meeting place is handicap accessible.
