Strategic Planning Community Kick-Off Featuring Rebecca Ryan

On Wednesday, February 25, at 6 p.m., the City of Germantown will host a Strategic Planning Community Kick-off featuring Rebecca Ryan, nationally known economist, futurist and humorist, at the Germantown Performing Arts Center, 1801 Exeter Road. Those who live, work and/or play in Germantown are invited to participate in this free event that is sure to inspire.

This event will set the stage for the City’s most recent strategic planning efforts aimed at updating the current Vision 2020 plan. A citizen committee, made up of 30 Germantown residents, will work throughout 2015 to develop a new long-range strategic plan for the City. Later this year, the committee will enlist task force members to offer expertise in identified key performance areas. Those interested in participating on a task force can sign up at this event.

“This type of planning is critical to Germantown’s success,” said Germantown City Administrator Patrick Lawton. “The goal of the Strategic Planning Steering Committee is to ensure that Germantown continues to be a great place to live and do business. This plan will provide a road map for Germantown’s future, securing the community’s goal of sustainability – of leaving the community in an even better position than we found it. Rebecca Ryan's message is relevant to that goal,” Lawton added.

Rebecca Ryan serves as the Resident Futurist at the Alliance for Innovation, a Senior Fellow at CEOs for Cities and a World Academy for Entrepreneurship & Enterprise (WAE2) board member. She is a futurist and an economist...and hilarious. Some folks call her a human spark plug. But don't take our word for it; join the City for this important kick-off event.
