Purpose

The Transportation Commission is established to promote all viable means of transportation, to provide input on public transportation infrastructure projects and to advance the City's overall commitment to improved access and mobility for all forms of transportation, traditional and recreational, with a focus on drivers, commuters, cyclists and pedestrians. The commission will also advise in the development, review and update to the City's transportation plans, cyclist and pedestrian connectivity and establish priorities for City transportation planning efforts. 


Meetings

The Transportation Commission meets quarterly on the second Wednesday of the month (February, May, August and November) at the Parks and Recreation office, 2276 West Street. 

Members

The Commission consists of nine members, a designated member from the Planning Commission, a designated member from the Public Safety Education Commission and a designated member from the Parks and Recreation Commission, including a non-voting alderman liaison, The remaining six members shall be appointed by the BMA and shall serve three-year terms. Public Meeting: 2016 TDOT Transportation Alternatives Grant

The purpose of this meeting is to discuss the City’s intent to submit an application for a 2016 TDOT Transportation Alternatives Grant in support of the extension of the Germantown Greenway Trail from Neshoba Park to the Western Trailhead of Wolf River Boulevard. This public meeting will discuss the parameters of the proposed project. The public is urged to attend.
