Purpose 
Serves as an economic development tool for the recruitment of new businesses and employment opportunities to our community, negotiates and accepts from corporation lessees payments in lieu of taxes.

Meetings 
The IDB meets on the third Thursday in January, May, August and November at 4 p.m. at the Economic and Community Development office, 1920 South Germantown Road. 

Members 
The commission consists of five members and includes Chairman Henry Evans, Vice Chairman Mike Harless, Janet Geyer, Rocky Janda, Juliet Klein, Steven Levy and Michael McLaughlin. Staff includes City Administrator Jason Huisman, Economic and Community Development Director Cameron Ross.

The City of Germantown and the Planning Commission encourage active participation and engagement with governing by making available public commenting for each item as part of the meeting agenda. Please send your submittals, 500 words or less, to PCPH@germantown-tn.gov and must include your name, address and phone number. In the subject line, please write the agenda item number and project name (eg. 5A - Forest Hill Grill). All emails submitted by the scheduled meeting date, no later than 12 pm, will be delivered to the Board prior to the 6 pm Board Meeting.

In Person:

Individuals wishing to speak in person at the Planning Commission meeting may sign up in the lobby (called People Street) upon arrival.  During the meeting, they will be requested to wait in the lobby outside the Council Chambers until they are called to speak, and requested to leave the Council Chambers directly after speaking.  Please limit all public comments to 3 minutes.  The Planning Commission meeting will be audio broadcast via speakers in the lobby (People Street).  Masks are required at all times while in City Hall, including while speaking in the Council Chambers.
