Purpose

The Technology Commission is tasked with enabling the City to meet the rapid pace of technological change in society by planning and investing in information and communication technologies. 

Meetings

The Technology Commission meets on the third Tuesday of each month at City Hall, 1930 S. Germantown Road.

Members

The commission consists of seven members plus one non-voting aldermen liaison. Members shall be appointed by the BMA and shall serve the standard term length of one year. Current members include Chairman John Colmer, Richard Davis, Andy Field, Joshua Freeman, Garry Graves, Lori Messina, Horace Taylor, IT Director Tony Fischer, Alderman John McCreery and Staff Support Stephanie Logan.

These actions were taken in response to Governor Bill Lee’s Executive Order No. 71 which suspended the requirements of the Tennessee Open Meetings Act to the extent necessary to allow governing bodies subject to the act to meet and conduct essential business by electronic means. These measures are temporary, and due to expire April 28, 2021 unless further action is taken by Governor Lee.
