Active Aging programs are for Germantown residents who are 50 years and older. 

If you are interested in meeting new people, socializing with old friends, participating in our weekly activities or taking a trip to interesting places, then the Germantown 50+ Group is for you! All activities take place at the Pickering Center, 7771 Poplar Pike, unless otherwise noted. Fantasy Faire Wizard Costume Contest

Fantasy Faire Wizard Costume Contest
Dress up as your favorite wizard for this all-ages costume contest. Refreshments will be served and awards presented. Participating wizards must arrive by 5:45p.m. in order to register for the contest.

Mayor Mike Palazzolo and area dignitaries will be on hand to officially launch The Big Read in Germantown. Open to all, this family-friendly event celebrates fantasy fiction with strolling musicians, juggler, balloonist, fire performer, face painting, wizarding science experiments, mule-drawn wagon rides, food trucks and more. Don’t miss an opportunity to take a selfie with Germantown’s own traveling wizard or town crier. Some lucky Faire goers will receive a free book. Copies will also be available for check out.
