Waste Pro

Waste Pro is the City's solid waste contractor. They collect all three materials - trash, recyclables and yard debris. New residents sign up for garbage collection preferences when arranging for water service. To help you decipher which items go in the trash and which ones can be recycled, we've created a helpful Waste Wizard tool: Simply type in the name of a waste item and the tool will tell you how to dispose of it. There's also a collection calendar tab there that can keep you up to date on your waste collection schedule.

Fees
The monthly fee for collection and disposal of trash, recyclables and yard debris is as follows:

Curbside Collection: $32.45
Backdoor collection: $40.15
Condominiums: $20.90 (no yard debris collection)

Schedule

Household garbage, curbside rubbish, recyclable material and yard waste are collected on the same day. All items must be ready for collection by 7 a.m. on the designated day. In weeks that include a holiday, collection is delayed by one day following the holiday for the remainder of the week. See a collection map, check Waste Wizard, email CustomerService@Germantown-TN.gov or call (901) 757-7200 for details. See a list of collection holidays.

Storage

As per City of Germantown Ordinance, all waste containers must be stored behind the front line of the home and should not be seen from the street.

Household Hazardous Waste

Collection and disposal of hazardous waste is handled by Shelby County Government. Details are available here.
