Purpose
Serves as an economic development tool for the recruitment of new businesses and employment opportunities to our community, negotiates and accepts from corporation lessees payments in lieu of taxes.

Meetings
The IDB meets on the third Thursday in January, May, August and November at 4 p.m. at the Economic and Community Development office, 1920 South Germantown Road.

Members
The commission consists of five members and includes Chairman Henry Evans, Vice Chairman Mike Harless, Janet Geyer, Rocky Janda, Juliet Klein, Steven Levy and Michael McLaughlin. Staff includes City Administrator Jason Huisman, Economic and Community Development Director Cameron Ross.

Are you a Germantown-based maker, artisan, craftsperson or small-scale manufacturer? If so, this is the event for you! Come out and meet your fellow makers! Join Made By at EPIcenter Germantown for mimosas, treats, and general merry-making! This is a great opportunity to connect with friends in the Germantown and Shelby County creative community as well as meet new makers, share your work and meet potential collaborators. Made By will be sharing information on their trip to Brooklyn for the Etsy Maker Cities Summit as well as information about The local Made By Project and upcoming opportunities for makers.

Makers of all types are welcome! Whether you make clothing, jewelry, tables, ceramics, pickles, soda pop, or guitars... whether you make full-time or part time... if you make a physical product to sell, this soiree is for you.

The goal of the Made By project is to create a plan to grow Germantown and Shelby County's creative class and inspire a greater appreciation for artisanship throughout the City.
