Purpose
The Board hears appeals regarding decisions of code inspectors or other administrative officials, interprets the official zoning map as to designations, considers uses on appeal for special uses in residential zoning districts and considers variances where exceptional practical difficulties or hardships are involved.

Meetings
Second Tuesday of each month at 6 p.m. at Germantown City Hall, 1930 South Germantown Road.

Members
The Board consists of seven voting members, including Chairman Jodie Bowden, Vice Chairman Frank Uhlhorn, Planning Commission Liaison Jim Jacobs, Andy Bland, Rick Towne, Laura Meanwell, and Alderman Mary Anne Gibson. Also present are: Assistant City Attorney Josh Whitehead and ECD Staff Liaisons Sarah Goralewski, Lillian Haddock, Sheila Pounder and Cameron Ross.

Public Meeting - Forest Hill Irene Road Improvements

The City of Germantown is planning as yet to be determined roadway improvements along Forest Hill-Irene Road. The general limits of the project are from Farmoor to Forest Hill Lane and from just south of Poplar Pike to Winchester. Since October, the City’s project consultant, Gresham Smith & Partners, has been gathering and analyzing data along the roadway segments and major intersections. To date, data related to existing and projected traffic volumes, turning movements at major intersections, crash history, safety audits and existing conditions field survey has been collected and analyzed. 

City Staff and Gresham Smith representatives will provide a presentation summarizing findings from the data collection phase and take public input.
