Active Aging programs are for Germantown residents who are 50 years and older. 

If you are interested in meeting new people, socializing with old friends, participating in our weekly activities or taking a trip to interesting places, then the Germantown 50+ Group is for you! All activities take place at the Pickering Center, 7771 Poplar Pike, unless otherwise noted. Running of the Weenies

The Running of the Weenies is a race for those lovable Weiner-shaped Dachshunds. Presented by the Germantown Animal Shelter, these short but swift racers never fail to entertain. Pre-registration is required by Wednesday, September 6, at 3:30 p.m.; no late registration will be accepted. Register at the Germantown Animal Shelter located at 7700 Southern Avenue.

Best Dressed Hot Dog Contest 11 a.m.
Fee: $10 per dog

Running of the Weenies 11:30 a.m.
Fee: $35 per dog

Proceeds benefit Germantown Animal Shelter.
