Purpose
The Board hears appeals regarding decisions of code inspectors or other administrative officials, interprets the official zoning map as to designations, considers uses on appeal for special uses in residential zoning districts and considers variances where exceptional practical difficulties or hardships are involved.

Meetings
Second Tuesday of each month at 6 p.m. at Germantown City Hall, 1930 South Germantown Road.

Members
The Board consists of seven voting members, including Chairman Jodie Bowden, Vice Chairman Frank Uhlhorn, Planning Commission Liaison Jim Jacobs, Andy Bland, Rick Towne, Laura Meanwell, and Alderman Mary Anne Gibson. Also present are: Assistant City Attorney Josh Whitehead and ECD Staff Liaisons Sarah Goralewski, Lillian Haddock, Sheila Pounder and Cameron Ross.

TIP Application Public Meeting

The City of Germantown will be seeking federal Surface Transportation Program (STP) funding in the upcoming 2020 to 2023 Transportation Improvement Program (TIP) cycle for the following projects:

1. Wolf River Blvd Mill/Overlay from Riverdale Road to the Western City Limits (80/20)

2. Forest Hill-Irene Safety Improvements from Poplar to Wolf River Blvd (80/20)

3. Poplar Culvert Replacements Project – Phase V (100/0)

4. Update of the City’s Major Road Plan (80/20)

5. Intersection Safety Audits (80/20)

6. Signalization of Wolf River Blvd/Houston High School Eastern Driveway (100/0)

7. Signal Upgrades (100/0)

8. Neshoba Road Mill/Overlay from Germantown Road to Exeter (80/20)

9. McVay Road Bridge Replacement (80/20)

A public meeting will take place on January 9 from 5:30 to 6:30 p.m. at the Economic and Community Development Building, 1920 South Germantown Road. Staff will provide a brief slide presentation on each project and be available to answer any questions. Public input is welcomed and encouraged.
