One of many beautiful calligraphy hands, the “Italic Hand” is very elegant with its slanted form and adapts itself to added flourishes. In learning this fine and useful hand participants will become familiar with the broad edge nib pen and manipulation. This is a nice style to have in a calligraphy arsenal. Presented by Ann Rabinovitz, long-time member of the Memphis Calligraphy Guild. This course is for beginners and those wanting to brush up on their Italic.

Ink, pad, nib, and holder will be provided. Optional supplies to bring to class: Paper towels, 12” ruler, sharpened pencil, a mechanical .05 pencil, small plastic cup for water. Attendance at all sessions is expected and home practice will be assigned. There will be a non-refundable, one-time course materials fee of $20. Pre-registration is required and begins December 30.
