Foundations of Writing: Creating Memorable Characters

Chris Pepple -- an award-winning author, freelance writer, manuscript consultant, and editor -- will offer tips to creating strong, memorable characters in creative writing. Character development is key to giving your readers a story they will want to read and recommend to others. In this session, you will work on creating your initial character sketches and breathing life into your characters as you move them from the sketches to the pages of your story. Seasoned writers can learn techniques to critique their characters to discover ways to deepen their impact on the story. Ages 18+. Pre-registration is required and begins Friday, February 18. For more information, call 901-757-7323 or visit the information desk.

This program is the first in a 3-part spring series on writing. The following sessions will take place on April 8 and May 13. Attendance at all sessions is not required.
