Community Garden Kick-Off Meeting

Join us for the Community Garden kick-off meeting on Saturday, March 26 From 9 to 10 a.m. at the Bobby Lanier Farm Park, 2660 Cross Country Drive. Newcomers, experienced gardeners and returning members are welcome to attend. Come out and learn more about the Community Garden!

The community garden, a working model of suburban agriculture, is a central feature of the Farm Park. Individuals and families interested in gardening, having access to healthy food and providing community service and stewardship are invited to participate. Returning members, experienced gardeners and newcomers are welcome. Registration will be accepted through May 1. Each member is required to contribute a minimum of two hours of volunteer service per week. There will be work requirements for all aspects of the garden. The work shifts are 8 to 10 a.m., Wednesday through Saturday and Tuesday, 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. Additional hours of garden-related community service may be requested during planting season, peak harvest times or special projects work days.

To register for the Community Garden season, visit Germantown-TN.gov/Registration. For more information, call Michelle Rodgers at (901) 498-8684 or MRodgers@Germantown-TN.gov.
