50+ Active Aging

Active Aging programs are for Germantown residents who are 50 years and older. 

If you are interested in meeting new people, socializing with old friends, participating in our weekly activities or taking a trip to interesting places, then the Germantown 50+ Group is for you! All activities take place at the Pickering Center, 7771 Poplar Pike, unless otherwise noted. Day Trip to Morton Museum

Pack a lunch and meet up at the Morton Museum in Collierville, TN, to learn about the bold and brave women of Shelby County. Drinks and desserts will be provided.

This presentation features stories about the bold, brave women featured on the Memphis Women’s Legacy Trail, including Corinne Derenburger, Carolyn Gates, Nina Katz and others. The Memphis Women’s Legacy Trail is a project dedicated to documenting and celebrating extraordinary women who have improved Shelby County through their lives and work. Presented by Deborah Clubb and Judy Card, co-founders of Women of Achievement, a program of the Memphis Area Women’s Council.

Following the presentation, a brief dedication ceremony and reception will be held honoring Ms. Anna Holden, a well-known educator active in Collierville during the late 19th century, who will be awarded the prestigious "Women in American History" medal and certificate. Award and reception sponsored by the Chief Piomingo Chapter of the Daughters of the American Revolution.

This event is free. Participants provide their own transportation. Parking is available. Space is limited, and registration is required.
