Meetings

The Tree Board meets bi-monthly (as needed) at noon at the Parks and Recreation office, 2276 West Street. The Tree Board does not meet in June or July.

Members

The Tree Board consists of seven members and includes at-large member Chairman Michael Shelton, at-large member Sarah Barton, At-large member Jessica Seidner, Parks & Recreation Commission Liaison Kevin Young, Neighborhood Preservation Commission Liaison Gerald Wilson, Design Review Commission Liaison Paul Bruns, Beautification Commission Liaison Albert Pope, Planning Commission Liaison Jennifer Sission as well as Alderman Scott Sanders, Assistant Parks and Recreation Director Caleb Marcum, Planning Staff Liaison Sarah Goralewski and Staff Support Teresa Martin.

The Kentucky Derby is more than just a horse race. It’s a longstanding American tradition and an excellent reason to enjoy a spring day outdoors. The Grove is equipped with a 20-foot x 30-foot video wall which is sure to elevate the excitement of the Kentucky Derby. Pull out your best Derby attire and head to The Grove for the big race! We’ve got specials on mint juleps, a GIANT video screen, and a beautiful canopy of trees on the TruGreen Lawn. The party starts at 4:00 PM, and hats are required (not really).

Admission is FREE, and tickets are not required.
