The City of Germantown invites residents to a public meeting to review and discuss the planned enhancements for Riverdale Park. This session will take place on Thursday, June 27, from 4:30 to 6:30 p.m. at the Pickering Center, located at 7771 Poplar Pike.
Riverdale Park, located adjacent to Riverdale Elementary School, serves the Poplar Estates neighborhoods and the City’s western district. It is a frequently utilized space for school activities, including recess and student drop-offs and pickups. In light of its importance to the community, the City plans to implement several improvements aimed at enhancing safety and accessibility.
Plans include:
- Parking and Access Upgrades: Improvements to parking facilities and park access along Neshoba Road to ensure safe and efficient entry and exit.
- Drainage System Modifications: Upgrades to the park’s drainage system to prevent flooding and enhance usability.
- ADA Trail Improvements: Construction of an ADA-compliant pathway from Neshoba Road to Riverdale Elementary, ensuring accessible routes for all residents.
The meeting at the Pickering Center will provide an opportunity for residents to view the conceptual plans, ask questions, and offer comments. The City values community input and looks forward to incorporating residents' feedback into the final designs.
