Have you ever wanted to be a Ham (amateur) radio operator?
The Germantown Community Library and the Nashoba Amateur Radio Club is offering a free Ham (amateur) radio operator class!! There is no experience necessary and Morse code is not required. When you are done with the class, you will have gleaned much additional knowledge about electronics and radios in general.
The class meets weekly on Thursday evenings for seven weeks. (An alternate class date may be provided for Thursday, October 31, due to Halloween.) The classes will be held in the Library’s meeting room.
In the last session, you will take the written exam to get your Federal Communications Commission (FCC) license. There is no charge for the class, but there will be a book required to be purchased prior to class beginning and there are some fees involving the licensing process. Once you have registered for the class we will let you know which book to get. It will cost about $30.
Ages 18+. Pre-registration is required and begins September 12. For more information or to register, call 901-757-7323 or visit the Information desk.
