Metro Consolidation Forum

presented by Leadership Germantown Alumni Association

Watch live streaming video of the event here.

Leadership Germantown Alumni Association will host the forum to present views about the proposed Memphis-Shelby County government merger. Germantown Mayor Sharon Goldsworthy, Memphis City Councilman Jim Strickland, Tom Guleff of Save Shelby County, and a representative from Rebuild Government will explain what metropolitan government means to all Shelby County residents. Mr. Jimmie Covington will moderate the discussion.

The public is encouraged to attend the forum or view it live on GHS-TV Cable Channel 17.

The event will begin at 7 p.m. in Council Chambers at Germantown City Hall at the northeast corner of Farmington Boulevard and Germantown Road.

The proposal to merge the City of Memphis and Shelby County governments will be put to voters November 2. There are many questions surrounding the proposed consolidation. The new metropolitan government would be structured with an urban services district and a general services district. It would have a single mayor and a 25-member council.
