Located in southeast Shelby County, Germantown is convenient to Memphis International Airport and downtown Memphis. It is one of six suburban municipalities adjacent to Memphis. The distance from Germantown City Hall to downtown Memphis is approximately 17 miles. Map

Germantown is also part of the Memphis Metropolitan Statistical Area, which contains more than a million people in five counties: Crittenden County, Arkansas; DeSoto County, Mississippi; and Fayette, Shelby and Tipton Counties in Tennessee.
