Temporary Signs

The city's Code Compliance Division is charged with the review and approval of temporary sign permits. There is a $30 fee for temporary sign permits in commercial districts. There is no charge for residential temporary signs.

Permanent Signs

The Planning Division reviews all permanent sign requests. Permanent signs must be approved by the City of Germantown either administratively or by the Design Review Commission (DRC), per the Municipal Code, before applying for a sign installation permit through Memphis/Shelby County.

Shopping Center Sign Policies

Applicants making a permanent sign request for a tenant in a shopping center with an approved sign policy shall review the center's sign policy, prior to designing the sign.  The requested sign shall adhere to the approved shopping center sign policy.  All approved shopping center sign policies are posted below.
