Inspector Bill Stemmler, Commanding Officer
The Uniform Patrol Division is responsible for continuous patrols of the City and is the largest division within the Police Department. Officers within this division respond to calls for service and conduct preventative patrols in order to protect life and property and to detect unlawful activity.
Uniform Patrol Division Responsibilities
- Uniform police services, 24-hour patrol
- School Resource Officers
- DUI enforcement
- Critical injury crash investigation team
- Canine unit
- SWAT
Each Uniform Patrol Division officer receives annual specialized training in a variety of areas including firearms, defensive tactics and weapons, crisis intervention, crime scene processing, legal updates, officer safety and survival skills and interpersonal communication skills.
