Items containing refrigerants such as refrigerators, freezers and air conditioners require certification from a licensed technician stating that the refrigerant has been removed. Once certified and tagged, state law requires doors be removed before refrigerators and freezers are placed at the curb for pickup. Email CustomerService@Germantown-TN.gov or call (901) 757-7200 to alert of large item pick-up.
There is a limit of five cubic yards for bulk items that can be placed at the curb per week.
Do not mix furniture, construction debris, landscape timbers, household garbage or other bulky items with yard debris. To assist with collection, contact customer service at CustomerService@Germantown-TN.gov or (901) 757-7200 to order pick-up of large items.
Sand, dirt, mulch, gravel, concrete, bricks, stone, sawdust, steel, steel poles, tile, auto parts, roofing, shingles, glass, mirrors and lawn mowers are not collected at the curb. These items are accepted at Germantown's semi-annual Amnesty Dumpster Day event.
