Assistant City Administrator Andy Sanders joined the City of Germantown in 2017 as Assistant Public Works Director, swiftly advancing to the role of City Engineer in 2021. Today he is directly responsible for the Engineering, Public Works, Economic and Community Development and Parks and Recreation departments.
Bringing extensive experience from various engineering roles with the State of Alabama and City of Tuscaloosa, Andy holds a Bachelor of Civil Engineering degree from Auburn, as well as two master's degrees in theological studies and public administration.
As a licensed professional engineer and member of prominent associations, including the American Society of Civil Engineers and American Public Works, Andy has demonstrated his commitment to excellence. He has seamlessly managed responsibilities in Public Works and Engineering, continuously enhancing his value through gaining many certifications and academic achievements.
Andy's leadership and ability to handle significant responsibilities have positioned him as a key asset for Germantown's future endeavors. He is not only devoted to this community professionally but is also personally invested by living, working, worshiping and playing in this area. As a devoted family man, Andy is a proud father of three children, married to his wife, Jenny, for over 15 years. Andy is able to do all of this while balancing his interests in running, reading and coaching his boy’s baseball teams.
Beyond his professional and personal pursuits, Andy's goal is to bring glory to God by serving others and making a significant impact within his community.
